Fencing starts up after Summer break on 13 September; beginners courses available

Get into fencing! It's easier than you think, and suitable for all ages. Thame Duellists Fencing Club is a friendly club open to beginners of any age from 7 years old, both male and female, as well as to more experienced fencers.

The club's first session after the summer break will be on Thursday 13 September.

If you'd like to try us out, our beginners course starts this Thursday 13 September at 7pm for adults and over 11s (separate session at 6pm for school years 3-6.) Try fencing! FREE taster sessions at Thame Duellists on 26 July

Why not try a new sport this year? Fencing is an exciting, modern Olympic sport, steeped in tradition. At Thame Duellists we welcome fencers from school year 3 and up; adults too - there's no upper age limit!

We're holding free taster sessions on Thursday 26th July in advance of our beginners course starting in September.

Sessions happen at our regular venue, Thame Leisure Centre, Oxford Rd, Thame OX9 2BB.

Taster session times:

If you'll be in school years 3-6 in September: 6pm

If you'll be in school years 7-13 in September: 7pm

adults: 8pm.

We ask that attendees wear loose comfortable clothes with long sleeves and trousers/leggings (not shorts) with trainers and recommend that bringing a bottle of water given the current summer heat.

Club AGM Thurs 12 July

The club's AGM will take place at Thame Leisure Centre at 6:45pm on Thursday 12 July. All club members /parents of club members are encouraged to attend. (The 6pm fencing session will run until 6:45 and there will be fencing for older fencers once the AGM has concluded.)

Medals!

Thame Duellists Fencing Club Southern Regional medals haul 2018-01-21 

Big congratulations to the two Thame Duellists fencers who entered the Southern Region Age Group Championships last weekend. It was a tough ask with over a hundred competitors overall and only the top quarter able to qualify for the British Youth Championships - both came away with bronze medals after competing hard over the course of the day, and booked their places at the BYCs in Sheffield in May. Well done Hal and Rebekah!

Your first session is a free, no-obligation taster - if you don't want to continue, you'll owe nothing.
